The first initiative of UNYKA is the annual scientific conference on “Contemporary strategies and innovations in the knowledge management”. The theme of the conference is identical every year. The conference is held as a final event of the activities of the Academy in the period 2014 – 2017.

The work is on scientific sections that are in accordance with the scientific directions of UNYKA. The stimulation of research in various fields of science and their promotion in the form of workshops, meetings for exchange of experience and knowledge during the conference, lead to higher adaptability of future researchers to the modern competitive and dynamic environment and their professional affirmation in scientific circles.

The first edition of the Conference was held on 3-4 December 2014 in the Ceremonial Hall of ULSIT. The second edition of the Conference was held at the Hotel “Constantia”, Kostenets in the period 2-4 November 2015. The third edition of the Conference was hosted by the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium in the period 3-5 May 2017. In 2018 the fourth edition of the Conference is forthcoming, again in the European Parliament.

Traditionally, the Conference is carried out within a research project funded by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Education and Science for partial funding of a scientific event, always the project leader is a member of the Academy, thus training the project leader through the method “learning by doing”.
