Tereza Trencheva is an Associate Professor at Library Management and  Archivistics Department at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT). She is a Deputy Chair of the University Youth Knowledge Academy (UNYKA).  


She has BSc degree in Library and Information Sciences (2002) from the Faculty for Philosophy of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, MSc degree in English Philology (2009) from the Faculty for Phylology of South-West University “Neofit Rilski” and she has been studying MSc in Law (from 2013 – onwards) at the Faculty of Law and History at the same university. Assoc. Prof. Trencheva has obtained her PhD degree in Theory of Scientific Information at the Faculty of Library Studies and Cultural Heritage at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) with dissertation’s theme: „Intellectual Property of Information Resources in Internet” (2011). She is Associate Professor in the field of "Organization and management outside the field of material production" (2014).


Dr. Trencheva has skills and competences in the fields "Intellectual Property", "Intellectual property", "Law, Media and Advertising" and "Social Networks and the Internet." She is a lecturer at the European Patent Academy and Erasmus intensive programs both in the country and abroad.  She has been on a long-term and short-term specializations and mobility, as follows: Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia, (2012); Department of Information Management, Hadjettepe University, Turkey, (2013); World Intellectual Property Organization  and World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland (2014).


She is a member of the Rector's Council and a member of the UNESCO Interfaculty Chair ‘ICT in Library Studies, Education and Cultural Heritage’; Member of the Managing Board of the Association of the Intellectual Property Teachers in Bulgaria; She is a member of the Academic Council of the President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria; Union of Scientists in Bulgaria; Informing Science Institute (USA); Scientific Committees of the International Conference "New Perspectives in Academic Education" (Florence, Italy) - NPSE 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018; International Conference "E-Society" (Portugal) - ES 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and the European Conference on Information Literacy - ECIL 2015 (Tallinn, Estonia), ECIL 2016 (Prague, Czech Republic); ECIL 2017 (St Malo, France), 2018 (Oulu, Finland); 9th Workshop of the European Network of Intellectual Property Teachers - EIPTN - Sofia 2016.


Dr. Trencheva is the author of the “Open Access to Scientific Information monograph” (2013), the “Intellectual Property on the Internet” (2014), seven collections and more than 80 publications on Intellectual Property Rights on the Internet, Legal Aspects of Intellectual Property (IP), IP Awareness, IP in University Information Environment and etc. She has participated in a number of national and international projects. Founder and coordinator of the annual seminar dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) at ULSIT.
